This is Jinx.  He is a two year old male that is up to date on vaccinations and heartworm prevention.  He has already been neutered.  Jinx is an awesome dog once he gets comfortable, which takes him a little time in the beginning. He is more comfortable with women than men but he does warm up to men and once he does he loves ya. He is a tall boy reaching almost 3 feet and weighing in at about 145-150. He loves to play ball and fetch but with his long legs he can get a little clumsy sometimes so you must make sure he plays outside or on a carpeted surfaces where there are no breakables :-).Jinx absolutely loves kids s but he gets overprotective of them. When Jinx was out in the front yard on a lead with me and my 3 year old son my neighbors 16 year old son came over to say hi. He does this often and he likes to "wrestle" with my 3 year old, he grabs him and swings him and such. Jinx had only been here for 2 days but was already quite attached to my children. When the 16 yr old came up to my son and grabbed him Jinx growled and started for him, once Kenny let go of my son Jinx stopped. My fear is that in his new home "his kids" may be wrestling around with friends and Jinx may not understand that they are just playing. I love that he is so protective of kids but it could also be a bad thing if he misinterprets the situation. Therefore, we feel it is best to adopt Jinx to a home with no children. Jinx is also great with other dogs but has a few "areas" we are working on. He was the only dog in his home so he never had to share and he is having a little trouble understanding that he has to share his toys and he has to wait for food. At feeding time Jinx will "snap" at the other dogs if they get to close to him when the food is being made and when eating. To correct this behavior we make him sit back behind the other dogs while the food is being made and we watch when they are eating. If you will watch Jinx you will see when he is about to snap and if you correct him before he does it he will stop. This has been working as Jinx has become more passive at feeding time, the same with sharing his toys. He does not like to be scolded so it only takes a somewhat stern "no" and he stops. Jinx is the type of dog that loves his family and is weary of anyone else until he gets to know them. If out he will back away from people that walk up to him, he has never shown any fear aggression but he isn't comfortable with strangers. Jinx also shakes alot, he shakes when he is afraid and sometimes he shakes when he has to put weight on his back legs. We have had him checked out by a vet and his hips are good and there are no spinal issues. Jinx is a wonderful boy and we have all fallen in love with him. He is a great family dog that loves and is very loyal to his family. He enjoys his family time and loves to play.
