Nice to meet you, my name is Hightower.  I have been wandering the streets for a couple of weeks, then I saw a nice lady and decided to follow her and her doggie home.  She was not able to keep me so she contacted GPMR and here I am!  I am new to rescue but so far they have discovered that I have Heartworms.  They told me that they would give me medication to fix that and would take good care of me.  I am about 2 years old and very skinny so I know they will feed me lotsa food so I can gain weight.   I seem to be a good boy who likes to do a happy dance when people talk nice to me!  I will be on medical hold for a few weeks while I gain weight and undergo Heartworm treatment.  Please remember to keep your doggies on Heartworm prevention year round!

Update 11/13/09:  Hightower became very sick with complications from his Heartworm disease.  He was given a very poor prognosis and we made the difficult decision to let him go.  We mourn the loss of this beautiful sweet soul.  His foster family adopted him shorty before this so that he would pass on knowing he had a family who loved him.
