Meet Cash! Cash is a super sweet 10-month-old male (born 1.3.24) who was an owner surrender to a shelter in South Texas for financial reasons. The owner said he is a Dou-bull Mastiff, which is supposedly a cross between an English Mastiff and Bullmastiff. We see the English Mastiff in him and he’s still a growing puppy, so maybe the Bull Mastiff will be more evident as he gets older and fills out. But so far we're not seeing it. He currently weighs about 100 lbs and will likely be around 120 + lbs when full grown.

Cash takes to a crate beautifully. In fact, we think he might have spent a lot of his life in a crate because he is just now learning to be a puppy and part of a family. New people, new situations and new dogs are a bit scary for him at first, but he does warm up quickly. We’ve learned to take things slowly for him. Until he gets more comfortable, a home with older kids and dogs that allow him to ease into playing would be best. Once he learns new people, he gets attached quickly to his family, and loves being around his people. He is enjoying playing with his 4-legged foster brother (they really play hard with each other but they both love it) and is very affectionate with his foster parents and other family members who visit that he’s grown to know.

Cash is learning to walk on a leash and seems to enjoy car rides but new places like vet offices make him nervous. He loves toys, treats, dinner time and bones. He loves soft toys a bit too much - we stopped giving those to him after pieces of them would disappear. He’s still a puppy that likes to chew, so we’ve learned that bones and Kong-type toys work best for him. He knows what “crate up” means and is learning to sit and shake. He is neutered and ready for a new family that will continue to be patient in training him and teaching him new things and what a life with a loving family is all about. As we learn more about Cash, we’ll continue to update his page.

Cash is being fostered in Broken Arrow, OK.
