Honey was rescued from a TX shelter.  She is a Mastiff mix and about 1.5 years old.  We don't know what she is mixed with, but she does have a fluffy tail!  She is a very sweet girl with happy tail wags and smiles for everyone she meets - she does not know a stranger.

Honey is playful and just fun to have around.  When we first met her, she got down on her front feet with her butt in the air to play…she is all about having fun!  Honey loves playing with the other dogs in her foster home.  She loves to have her belly rubbed and is pretty self sufficient.  She crates well and is quickly learning some basic manners - she already sits on command!

Shortly after Honey came into rescue we learned that she was surrendered to the shelter by her owners because she has hip dysplasia in her right hip.  She had an FHO surgery - Femoral Head Ostectomy - to relieve the extreme pain she was having.  Unfortunately the surgery was not done correctly and Honey had to get a second surgery to finally fix her hip.  In the meantime she has lost almost all of her muscle in this leg from not using it.  This poor girl has been through so much and all she wants to do is romp and play!

Honey is doing great after her second surgery.  She is using the leg again and her mom is doing physical therapy at home in their pool.  She is such a happy girl and would love to have a doggie playmate in her forever home.  Is that home yours?

We have spent over $2,000 on Honey's care so please consider making a donation for this sweet girl.
