Meet Sugar! This sweet puppy was surrendered to a shelter in South TX because her owner didn't have time for her. She said Sugar was a Mastiff but we think Sugar is a Great Dane/Mastiff cross because has some traits that are definitely more Dane than Mastiff. There may be something else in the mix but it's hard to tell. She is almost 70 lbs already so she will be over 100 lbs when full grown. We estimate her at approximately 7 months old.

We do agree that Sugar's former owner didn't have time for her, as it's clear that this girl never received any training whatsoever before coming to GPMR. She is a very active pup and combined with the lack of training, that can be a challenge for some families! Sugar's family will be required to take her through a basic obedience class so she has a good foundation to build on the basics she is learning in foster care.

Sugar is fostered with other dogs and loves to play. She does chase cats so a home without cats is best. Sugar is too much puppy and too energetic for small kids, so a home with kids ages 10 and up would be a good match for her.

Currently she is being treated for "happy tail", which is a tail injury caused by wagging it so much at the kennel in the shelter she was rescued from. It hits the walls and causes a wound on the end. Once that is healed up she will be spayed and ready for adoption, so get your application in today!

Sugar is being fostered in Oklahoma City, OK.
