Mastiff : : Female (spayed) : : X-Large
Meet Peanut! She is 2. 5 years old and came to us when some good Samaritans in Arkansas helped talk her previous owner into letting a rescue group take her in. You see, Peanut failed to produce puppies during her last heat cycle so her owners no longer wanted to be “bothered” with her. Well, their loss is our gain, because Peanut is quite possibly the absolute sweetest Mastiff her foster mom has ever met!!
Peanut has never met anyone she didn’t like (men, women, kids of various ages, male & female dogs – not sure about cats, but we bet she would get along with them too). She loves car rides and being inside and outside; she just wants to be with you and her tail in constantly wagging. She gets the all over, total body wags!!
We were told Peanut was heartworm positive but when we had our vet run a heartworm test, she was negative. We have started her on monthly prevention like all of our dogs, and the vet recommended referring her in 6 months. She also had a benign growth removed when we spayed her. She seems to be a very healthy girl! Most likely because Peanut was bred at a very early age, she never grew to be as big as most mastiffs. She is right at 100 pounds, so the name Peanut fits her well. She is learning some of the basics of being an inside dog. She does love her dog beds and couches too if you let her.
Peanut is being fostered in Broken Arrow, OK. More about PeanutGood with Dogs, Good with Kids
