Meet Tugger! Unfortunately his previous owners failed him in a big way which almost costs Tugger his life. They lived near a golf course and didn't have a fenced yard, so he was either chained out front or just allowed to roam. Well, Tugger was bored and thought it would be a fun game to chase the golf carts. Unfortunately this led to him nipping a person's hand in the process, and Animal Control wanted Tugger's owner to euthanize him. Fortunately Tug had a guardian angel in Janine, who owns a local boarding kennel and took Tugger while she went to court to save his life. Janine reports Tug was very well behaved under her care. Thankfully the Judge agreed and then Tugger came to GPMR.
Tugger is a snuggly, energetic boy with a unique face and eyes that will melt your heart. He was kept outside most of his adult life, so he’s learning indoor manners. He is crate trained and does well but he will greet you with his talking when you walk in the door. He loves to be inside and is learning how to love a bed and how to walk on wood floors, but he also doesn’t mind spending some time catching some rays outside as well. We’re learning more about his personality each day. He’s going to make someone a wonderful addition to their family with a little training and discipline. Tugger is a 2.5 years old and currently weighs 125 lbs. He is good with other dogs his size, we don't recommend small dogs or cats as he can be rough when he plays with the other dogs in his foster home. Due to his history of chasing golf carts, Tug's home needs to have no golfcarts, ATV's, etc and special care needs to be taken if he lives where kids are riding bikes as we would assume he would probably chase them. With his history a home with older kids (12 +) would be best. He also needs a securely fenced yard, privacy/stockade fencing would be best for him. Tugger tested positive for heartworms and has been treated so he is ready for a new home! Tugger's adoption fee is $450. He is being fostered in Broken Arrow, OK (outside Tulsa) More about TuggerGood with Dogs
