Hi,
It is very nice to meet you. I am Jewels. That is what the fantastic folks at GPMR named me because they said I was a diamond in the rough. I lost my home back in April when my parents got divorced. They took me to a shelter where it was dark and loud and I was lonely. I was there almost 4 weeks and they kept saying rescue was coming to get me, but no one ever came. I was tired & hungry and really just wanted to snuggle with my people on the sofa. Then the people of GPMR found me and got me out of there and into a loving foster home. I went to the doctor and they found out I had heartworms and a few bad infections. When I arrived at GPMR I was a sick sick girl and very skinny. Since then I have had all of my heartworm treatment and now I take preventative every month but I am still working on a severe urinary infection. It is almost all gone thanks to the great care of my foster mom and a wonderful doctor. When I came to GPMR I was 92 lbs....now I am 142 lbs and getting healthier every day. I do take medicine daily because sometimes I leak a bit of urine, but not all the time and we think it may have to due with the infection I have. I am starting to feel much better cause my foster mom has a hard time keeping up with me on lead when I see another dog. I am not to fond of busy dogs. I like the much more laid back dogs and for some reason big dogs scare me. I also have been told that I am not as old as they first thought I was, which I guess to people is a good thing. If you have room in your heart and on your sofa then I am your forever girl. I am being fostered in Oklahoma City, OK.
