Meet Lexi! She is a super sweet senior who was surrendered to GPMR by her owner when she had to relocate to Alaska for work and wasn't able to take Lexi with her. It's clear Lexi was taken care of and loved, she has a very sweet and gentle demeanor. She is in good health other than showing some beginning signs of arthritis - which is common at this age - and heartworm negative! We're starting her on joint supplements.

Lexi's owners had boarded her for several weeks while they tried to get her to Alaska but weren't able to. During Lexi's boarding stay, she got what we call "happy tail", which is damage to the tail from constantly wagging and banging it against the wall in her kennel. Unfortunately by the time we got Lexi, the end of her tail had been damaged beyond repair and it had to be removed. So now she has a cute little nub of a tail that continues to wag! She also had a benign growth removed as it was on her collar line and starting to rub against the collar.

Lexi has always lived with another female dog and she seems to do better with female dogs versus males. She is not recommended for a home with cats.

Lexi is being fostered in Edmond, OK.
