Meet Shaker! This poor boy was found wandering and emaciated in a rural area. He made his way into a back yard and thankfully this family reached out for help. He was in terrible shape. Besides malnutrition, he also had some of the worst ear infections we've ever seen. His legs and head were covered in bite wounds, and some had maggots coming out of them. This area was outside of any animal control's coverage zone and so they contacted us for assitance. He was microchipped but all of the numbers were either disconnected or wrong numbers so we suspect he was probably dumped in the country.

Despit the pain Shaker must have been experiencing, he was just the sweetest boy. He just wanted to be loved. He went straight to the ER to start getting his wounds addressed and put on meds. It took several weeks but they finally healed up and thankfully he has no long term injuries!

Shaker is good with other dogs but not recommened for homes with cats. He's not received much training so we're starting on some basic obedience. He is showing some separation anxiety from his ordeal so we've started him on some medications to help keep him calm when he's home alone. Once he's settled in he can be weaned off these. He would do best with a family who is home most of the day.

Shaker is being fostered in Guthrie, OK.
