Meet Jesse! Jesse is a seasoned farm dog who is learning how to be a city slicker! GPMR took Jesse in when her owner was no longer able to keep her. So far she's adjusting well and learning new things like walking on a leash which she didn't seem to do much of before coming to us. She was used to wandering the acreage she lived on and so a leash was very new to her. She's doing well but is a work in progress!
She is reportedly good with all other animals. However we have seen that Jesse will chase cats and small animals outside. Any potential cat homes will need to live within driving distance of Oklahoma City so that we can do some meet and greets with the cat. With confident cats who assert themselves, she seems to do better versus shy cats who run, she will chase and get fixated on finding them. Jesse tolerates her young foster brother Mastiff, but wouldn’t mind a more settled mate, as she doesn’t have the energy level of a pup anymore. She’s about 6 years old. Jesse spent most her life with her single farmer so she is very shy and timid meeting new people and being in new places. Her city living foster family is working to socialize her and she is coming around very well. She is the sweetest and most affectionate girl who just wants to be with someone. She’s house and crate trained. Jesse is heartworm negative. She was in good health besides an ear infection which we have treated. She is ready for adoption! Jesse is being fostered in Moore, OK.
