Otis is a purebred Mastiff who was found as a stray by Animal Control in TX and taken to a shelter.  The shelter kept Otis for over a month trying to find him a home or his owners, and when they were not able to they contacted Rescue.

 Otis is about 3.5 years old, he's a great dog and very slobbery!  He has lived in a home with another Mastiff, a kitty and a 4 year old girl and is currently being fostered with a male Lab.  His foster mom reports that he is a good boy but he does have some anxiety issues when kept in a crate or outside alone.  He does will staying in a  bedroom and would love a home where someone is home for most of the day.

 Otis is on Medical Hold because he needs physical therapy.  At some point in his life, his back leg was broken and since he didn't receive any medical attention, it didn't heal properly and the leg is not straight.  He has been evaluated by a surgeon and at first they thought surgery was needed but after getting a second opinion by a board certified surgeon, they said Otis has compensated for his injury and the leg healed enough that he can use it and they don't think it is causing him pain.  However he does have arthritis in the leg and also his lower spine, so to treat that he will be having hydrotherapy session as well as joint supplements to get him as mobile as possible.  This boy is about as good as they get so we want to do everything we can to help him gain strength and muscle in his back legs.
