Mabel is about 3 years old and was rescued from a local shelter where she was very thin and heartworm positive. She has been treated for that, has been spayed and had all of her vaccinations done. She is slowly gaining weight as well. She is a sweet, adoring dog who is a little shy at first but warms up quickly. She has some odd scars on her back where it looks like some kind of rope was wrapped around her body and embedded in the skin, so we can only imagine what kind of life she had previously. You'd never know it by her sweet, gentle nature, she loves everyone she meets and is just content to lay at your feet.
She is such a beautiful girl - maybe's she's born with it, maybe it's Mabel-line!

No children under 5 due to her size and playfulness.

Update 1/1/08: Mabel is a great dog - she is the easiest foster we've ever had! She also is learning to accept the kitties and not chase them so we think she'd do OK in a home with cats. She does great with other dogs but does prefer her people over canine companionship. She has a very soft personality and would be a great dog for the first-time Mastiff owner.
