Update:  Luna is a loving 3 year old mastiff who desires love and patience.  Luna was one of the Mastiffs rescued from the group of nine who were abandoned at a home in Springtown, TX.  She is a beautiful brindle girl and quite a character as you can see from her pictures!  Luna does show some insecurity, based on her previous life so she is looking for a family who can continue positive reinforcement training and teach her that her scary days are behind her.  Luna is a champ in facing her fears and overcoming them.  Luna greets you at the door with  lots of tail wags and a beautiful smile.  Luna is very excited to be loved and even dances around to show you!.  Luna gets along with big and small dogs.  We feel it is very important for Luna to have the company of another dog in her forever home, as a four legged friend provides much needed comfort to her.  All Luna wants from life is someone to open their heart and see her for the beautiful girl she is becoming!!  Could you be Luna's secure loving family ?

 

Update:  Luna is starting to come out of her shell!!!  She seeks out love/attention on her own terms. Luna actually enjoys the company of other smaller dogs and appears to have no issues with her smaller female or male counterparts!!  We believe Luna would do well with a confident 4 legged counterpart to help lead her through life! 

Update:  Luna is great in the house but needs to be reminded to not chew on things other than her toys. She needs a designated bed to lay on otherwise she paces for a place to rest.  She doesn't like the hard ground anymore!!!  If you want a dog to stay home and snuggle with on the floor Luna is a dog for you.

She enjoys walks but needs to be given time to feel secure when moving from inside to outside. Luna thrives on a routine and needs an owner who has the time, patience and commitment to continue her growth and learning.

Luna is still startled by quick movements and loud noises so we feel she would do best with older (teenage) children or no children in her forever family.

 

Luna was one of the Mastiffs rescued from the group of 9 that was abandoned at a home in Springtown, TX.  She is a beautiful brindle girl.   Luna is very insecure with all of the changes that she's been through in a short period of time.  She would love a family who can do some positive reinforcement training and teach her that her scary days are behind her.  She does not seem to tolerate other female dogs well so we're looking for a home where she can be the only dog or maybe with a male dog.  Luna is a smart girl and learned very quickly what a couch is for!  She is a sensitve soul and needs an owner who can understand her needs.  Her personality is too timid for kids so an adult household would be best.

Families adopting one of the Springtown Mastiffs will need to understand that these dogs never lived in a house prior to coming into GPMR.  Most of them startle easy at new noises and in new situations.  They have lived in harsh conditions and their adoptive families need to be slow and patient while they get to know you and settle into a new routine.  These pups have a whole new world ahead of them and need a wonderful family to show them how great life CAN be!
