Meet Cooper! He came into a shelter outside Austin TX with 3 other Mastiffs when their owner lost their home due to the massive flooding in that area in late May. The dogs were not in the best of shape, all were thin, had parasites and two of the Mastiffs, including Cooper, testing positive for heartworms.

Cooper was 106 pounds when he arrived to us and can is now 150! He is about 7 years old. He is good with other dogs medium size and larger, doesn't care for small yappy dogs. and is not recommended for homes with cats. Cooper definitely needs other dogs in his pack as he's happiest with canine companions.

Cooper has finished his heartworm treatment and is ready to be adopted! He does have some arthritis in his spine, he doesn't require medications for it at this time but needs a home with dogs who won't play rough or jump on his back. He also needs assitance getting in and out of the car.

His foster home reports he is just perfect, has free roam of the house and is very well behaved. He enjoys his daily walks down the street and typical of his breed he does have a protective nature especially of his foster mom.

Cooper is being fostered outside Ft Worth, TX.
