Meet Cowboy. He was an owner surrender who came in with a female. He will be 4 years old in May. We think they were probably used for breeding stock dogs who lived outside. They weren’t socialized much as Cowboy didn’t know how to walk on inside floors or what to do once he was inside the house. But all that is changing quickly. Cowboy has discovered the joys of inside living and doesn’t like to stay out too long in the backyard if you’re not out there with him. He enjoys toys and has taken to crate training beautifully. His foster Mom works from home and typically the worst thing she hears out of him during her calls is some snoring. This boy sleeps hard. He loves to eat and dances around when he knows he’s going to be fed. He is also pretty snuggly and loves to be pet. We think he has been corrected harshly in the past, and he does not need to be – he responds pretty well to direction.

He has the most precious underbite and forehead wrinkles. Why can’t forehead wrinkles look so good on us? He has met all his foster sibs (male EM, female EM and a female pit mix) and seems to get along well with all of them. Once his cone of shame comes off from his neuter surgery, then we can really watch them play and learn more about his personality.

He is still learning manners and is a bit rambunctious. For this reason, a home without kids or with older kids 12+ would be best. He has not been cat tested.

We would do best in a home willing to take him through a training class to help him learn the basics and get more socialization.

Cowboy is being fostered in Broken Arrow, OK.
