Meet Big Mac! He was surrendered by his owners when they were moving and he wasn't able to go with them. They had adopted Big Mac from another person who owned him since a pup. The story we received was that Big Mac broke his leg when he was young and it healed incorrectly. As a result, he was assessed for corrective surgery on his deformed leg. After consulting with several different surgeons, we have decided that pursuing surgery for Big Mac was too risky and not in his best interest since he's been living this way most his life and functioning well considering everything. The Specialist does not feel he is in pain at this time but at some point in the future he'll develop arthritis in that leg and need anti-inflammatory and pain control medications. Right now he's just a happy go-lucky boy! He does well with other dogs but is not recommended for a home with cats. Kids over 5 would be fine for his adoptive home!

Big Mac is being fostered near Dallas, TX.
