120 lb underweight brindle male mastiff. This boy has a great temperament! He has the typical mastiff personality, in that he is laid back and drools a lot. This boy is heartworm positive so will need to undergo treatment for this prior to his adoption. Won't be available until mid-summer but fill out an application today to get the process started. Update 5/24/08: Shortly after Hank arrived into rescue, we realized that something was not right with this big guy. He seemed to have trouble with his back legs and would stumble a lot, and he would also walk into things. Another thing that was strange is that he will walk in circles around a room for about 10 minutes before he would lay down. We brought him back to the vet for tests. We took X-rays of his hips and fortunately they look normal. The vets said it could be one of 3 things: a tick disease, some type of previous head trauma, or a disease called Wobblers syndrome. He did test a mild positive for 2 different tick diseases so we are treating him for that and hoping that helps him to be more steady on his feet. He really is a great dog, he is very loving and always looking for attention! He has a wonderful spirit and you can't look at him without smiling. Update 6/15/08: Hank has about a week to go on his medication to treat his tick infections. He has improved some but definitely is a little bit "off". He still stumbles a bit and can walk into things sometimes. He is not blind so we'll be having him evaluated again by the vet to see if we can pinpoint the cause of his issues. He has one of the best personalities we've seen in a rescued Mastiff, so friendly and outgoing and he gets along with everything and everyone! This boy is definitely a drooler so have your towel handy! He really just wants to be loved and lay at your feet while you watch TV. He is a fantastic boy!
